Our founding director Aya Sekine is a Singapore based Japanese Jazz pianist who has been actively performing worldwide over the past 2 decades. As a performer she is best known for her dynamic style of Jazz that is heavily influenced by the Bebop and straight-ahead era, but she is also known for her work as an improvisor whom collaborates with artists from wide spectrum of backgrounds.
Besides being an established artist, she is also known as an eclectic curator, since end 90's where she began programming offbeat acts at venues such as The Knitting Factory, Continental, and now defunct CBGB's OMFUG, at times partnering with CMJ Music Marathon. Back in South East Asia since 2002, she is a co-founder/curator of live music program of Blu Jaz Cafe (2006-2016) and countless other programming for events and concerts.
In 2012 she has founded Bon Goût Music, that has become her vehicle of offering music event/International tour programming and consultations. With her forward thinking to impact the society, in 2016 she has founded and non-profit We Love Jazz (Singapore) Limited ('WLJ SG') aiming to strengthen the foundation of jazz and improvised arts community of Singapore, where she programs community jazz festival, inter-school jazz competition and more.
Her artistic integrity, experience as international artist, out-of-the box thinking and infectious energy has made a significant impact in the music scene wherever she goes.

RIE WATANABE is a marketer with 10 years of business experience developing brands and marketing SME’s. She is an advocate of inbound marketing strategies that focus on attracting the right customers to become brand loyalists. Alongside her professional career, Rie is a passionate tap dancer, choreographer, teacher and commercial voice over talent, who continues to develop her knowledge and love for tap dance and music, here in Singapore where she grew up.
